The US Open: a special one

Hello everyone, it's the start of the Flushing Meadows tournament in Queens, New York, where Carlitos won his 1st major on September 11. This Grand Slam has a number of special features:

- firstly, it's the last Grand Slam of the season each year, so it has a particular impact and is therefore the pinnacle of the North American season.

- Secondly, it's the world's largest tennis stadium, with Arthur Ashe Centre Court seating

22,547 seats, cost a whopping $254 million and boasts 5 restaurants.

- The night sessions, criticized by some players, start at 7pm and are usually scheduled with 2 matches. This has led to some incredible matches, such as Carlos Alcaraz's incredible match against Jannick Sinner after 5 hours 15 minutes of play at the end of the night...

- For 50 years, the prize money for the men's and women's winners has been identical, a source of great pride for New Yorkers.

- Nobody embodies the spirit of Flushing better than John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors. In 1980, the whimsical left-hander won the semi-final.

- For all these reasons, we're hoping for a great 2023 US Open and, of course, a dazzling victory for Carlos Alcaraz; Vamos Carlitos!
